Since 1996, GELN has organized 10 annual meetings of a global "community of practice" that involves over one hundred practitioners from major companies and public institutions, consultants, and executives interested in learning and education.
These gatherings are by-invitation-only, and are not-for-profit.
Global Forums are also hosted by companies.
This year (2009) the Global Forum took place in San Jose, USA and was hosted by Intel.
The next, 15th Global Forum will take place in Nice, France from 21-24 June 2010.
