Dr. Yury Boshyk
Adviser, educator and author, co-founder and director of Global Executive Learning, and Visiting Professor at the Gordon Institute of Business Science in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is also Chairman of the Global Executive Learning Network, a worldwide community of practitioners, lecturers, authors, thought leaders and corporate executives who work together to foster and deepen executive education in leading organizations.
Yury Boshyk specializes in assisting organizations to better understand their external environment, and in the design and the delivery of strategic learning and leadership development programs and “learning” interventions.
Since 1990, he has helped design and implement business driven action learning executive programs with General Electric and other leading multinationals. He chairs and organizes an annual Global Forum on Executive Development and Business Driven Action Learning, a “by-invitation-only” gathering of representatives from multinational companies (www.GlobalForum2005.com).
Yury Boshyk’s other area of expertise is in assessing the external environment of business, and future trends affecting companies and countries. He publishes in this area and lectures on these subjects in both company-specific executive programs, as well as in academic and government institutions throughout the world. He has been interviewed on television and radio for the BBC, CBC and other agencies, often appearing as a guest speaker for corporate and other meetings.
Present research is focused on two areas—geopolitical and other trends in the external environment of business, and on how companies and institutions can use organizational learning and leadership development for strategic advantage.
He has published studies, books and articles that deal with these subjects as well as historical works on twentieth century topics. His more recent articles have been on organizational action learning (published in Jim Bolt ed., The Future of Executive Development) and knowledge management in multinationals (published in the Financial Times, London), and on emerging markets in the World Competitiveness Report (published by the World Economic Forum and IMD). Among his latest books are Business Driven Action Learning: Global Best Practices, (2000) and, Action Learning Worldwide: Experiences of Leadership and Organizational Development (2002).
